Today I am 99-months old!

Happy March to everyone!

It has been a full month once again and we have a lot coming up! On Valentine’s Day, our parents gave us a trip to DisneyLand over Spring Break! We will be headed to the land of Mickey, Minnie, Princesses, Cars and all sorts of fun stuff in about a week! We have been getting excited about going by watching videos of the rides and attractions and by looking at books. Also, big excitement … Grandma and Grandpap are going with us! That will be super fun for sure!

IMG_1338We took a trip to Austin to see Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda. Uncle Mike ran his 10th Austin marathon and Aunt Melinda ran the half marathon. It is always good to see them and we are super proud of their accomplishments.

We wrapped up our basketball season this month. I liked my coaches and learned a lot. I played mostly point guard and got pretty good at rebounding. It is nice to make a basket from time to time, but the best part was playing with my friends. Following the last game of the season was the annual mother-son dance. We had a bunch of people over for pizza before heading out to the dance. It was a cowboy theme and we had a great time.

IMG_1410Since basketball has wrapped up, baseball season has officially started. We have been practicing the last month, but now we just started playing games. It is a new team, but there are a couple kids from my old team who play with me. I played outfield, 3rd base and catcher. Should be a fun season! Dad is helping coach the team,  which makes it even better.

DSC_0362This month we also had our 2nd grade performance. The theme was Olympics. I had to dress like an Olympic athlete and was glad that my Sidney Crosby Penguins jersey came in handy! (They didn’t say an American Olympic athlete!). We did all sorts of singing and dancing routines.

IMG_1381Cara has been keeping her schedule full too. She is completely obsessed with the movie Frozen and is looking forward to meeting Elsa at Disney. She plans to ask her for “Frozen powers” so she can bring them back to Texas. If anyone can get Frozen powers, it would be Cara! She has been drawing a lot and recently drew this picture of Elsa and Olaf. The other picture is her and her class stuffed animal pet “Bugsy”. I think she is pretty good! Mom registered Cara for kindergarten last week. WOW - I can’t believe Cara will finally be in kindergarten. I am excited that she will be at my same school. Grandma and Aunt Beth took Cara to see the play, The Little Mermaid. She really enjoyed it and I am sure is also excited to meet Ariel at Disney. Cara also participated in her first gymnastics meet this weekend. We are really proud of her! She got four blue ribbons and a trophy! She was pretty excited.cara bugsylittle mermaidDSC_0468

Last weekend was a big weekend for me. I made my first IMG_1474reconciliation in the morning. It was very special and Grandma came to the service. After that, we had our Destination Imagination performance and team celebration. DI is a thinking team and we work on solving a challenge together and creating a performance. All the work has to be ours from costume design, set design, script and ideas. This year’s challenge involved a circus. The original performers disappeared and we had to put on the new circus. DI encourages creativity and teamwork. Our circus took place in Yellowstone park. The forest animals were the new performers. We had to have one act that featured balance, one that had shapes and one was our choice. It was a great team and had a lot of fun. Mom was one of the team managers and this was our second year to do it. Mom made a video (click here to see it), which is pretty long. It has pictures from our whole season in it plus the video of our performance.

That is what we have been up to the last month! I have been to a few hockey games and continue to build my sports world in MindCraft. I am teaching Cara MindCraft too. Looking forward to sharing our Disney adventures with you next month!

Love, Sean
