Today I am 90-months old!
WOW – has it been an awesome month. Once again, so much has been going on. Sit back and hold on tight!
To start the month, the Allen Americans clinched the CUP! It was awesome. We went to the game where they won it all. They were down in the 3rd, came back to tie it up. And just a few minutes into the 1st OT, they scored and won! It was really exciting and we were happy to be there. We went to the celebration the next day – Mother’s Day – and I got to have my jersey signed by most of the players. We had a nice Mother’s Day and also celebrated cousin Emily’s birthday.
Mom really liked my gifts. We made a cookbook in class with all of our favorite recipes.
As I mentioned, we celebrated Cousin Emily’s birthday. She had a cheerleading Build-A-Bear party! Cara got to go and dress up as a cheerleader. I met everyone for the good stuff – cake!
I have been playing a lot of baseball, when it hasn’t been raining. We have had a lot of rainouts this season. We are going into our tournament and we are seeded 1st in our division. The other night, I made a pretty amazing catch while playing second base. I dove across and got the ball in my glove. Daddy went absolutely crazy with excitement! I was glad that Grandma was there too so she got to see the catch as well. A couple plays later, I almost caught another one, but dropped it. I stayed with it, picked it up, tossed it to first and got the runner out at first! I was proud how I was able to stick with the ball and still make the play.
Cara wrapped up her school. She had a party and they did a special Letter People parade. Cara chose to be the letter “A.” She told Mommy exactly how she wanted her costume. It was fun that Mom, Dad and Grandma got to attend her parade.
Cara learned a lot in the 3s program at Apple Creek. She knows all her ABCs. upper and lower case, and can count to 68! She is really good with shapes and she told me that she wants me to teach her to read this summer. That should be fun!
School was pretty busy the last few weeks. We had Kite Day and Field Day. Field Day was a couple days after a rain storm, so it was more like a Mud Day, but it was a super good time! We went around to more than 20 activities with our class.
Over Memorial Day weekend, I got to go to the Perot Museum with just Mom and Dad. It was nice to have a special day with them. We then went to the mall and hung out at the Apple and Lego stores.
The last day of first grade was June 6. I sure have learned a lot. My favorite subject is science and my favorite part of first grade was learning about life cycles. I enjoy reading chapter books and have been reading the Magic Tree House series and Diary of a Whimpy Kid. I loved seeing all my friends and visiting during lunch and recess.
The last day of school was our annual ice cream party at the park! We ate ice cream and played basketball. It was awesome! I told Mom that summer vacation was, “An 80-day weekend!”
We started off the first day of summer at the Dallas Zoo with Grandma. We had a very nice time seeing the animals and riding the monorail. We had another baseball game and then we met up with a bunch of friends at the Purple Cow for dinner and water fun. It was a GREAT start to summer! I can hardly wait for more summer days and fun.
This week, Cailin comes to visit. We are all very excited to have her! Also this week is Cousin Abbie’s birthday and our friend Susan comes from Pittsburgh to visit. Mom organized a Boys Book Club for the summer and we are reading The Chocolate Touch. I have both Camp Invention and Rangers Baseball camp this month, and hopefully lots of swimming and relaxing!
My Mom made this movie of my 1st grade year. It’s a little long. She sometimes gets a little over-involved in projects.
I hope you enjoy it!
have a great start to summer!
Love, Sean
