Today I am 89-months old!
Happy May!
I can’t believe the year is flying by. The next time I write, I will be out of 1st grade and ready to enjoy summer vacation! Mom has been working on getting my summer camp schedule put together. I am in a science camp, baseball camp, basketball camp, VBS and technology camp. Should be a fun summer and I am excited that I will have lots of time to spend with friends and Grandma!
I have been playing a lot of baseball. Our team is doing well this season and I am enjoying it. I was even given the “wooden nickel” at one game. It is an award given by the other team’s coach! During the game, I caught a fly ball in the infield! Here are some highlights from another game that Mom put together as a video. Also, my teacher Mrs. Beach and my kindergarten teacher, Ms. Wright, both came and watched our team play! It was great to have them.
In April we headed to Aggieland to watch the Maroon & White game. This is the annual spring football game that has the offense play the defense. It was a great day for football and it was awesome seeing Johnny Manziel so close up! We got several autographs of former players. We met our friend Jackson and his dad down there and Grandpap came with us! We had lunch at the Dixie Chicken and enjoyed walking through campus.
The weather the last month here has been erratic! It would be warming up in the 80s and all of a sudden, it would go down into the 30s. Crazy, crazy weather. We have enjoyed the milder temps and have been biking/scooting after dinner. Cara is really good on her bike and I prefer to ride my scooter. Mom has to run to keep up with us. So, we are all getting good exercise!
Another exciting development is that I have lost both my front teeth! Too bad it isn’t Christmas time! I really want to lose one at school, but that hasn’t happened yet. I have another one ready to fall out, so I am hopeful it will come out at school. Speaking of school, we finished another year of “church school.” Mom taught my class again and Cara went to the 3s program. Next year I will make my First Communion!
Cara is doing well. She had her school party today. She does have a few more weeks of school. She has been doing some fun things while I am in school. She went to the Perot museum with mom and some friends and she frequently has play dates with both school friends and friends she has known since she was a few months old. Her school, Apple Creek, had their annual picnic a few weeks ago. We all enjoyed ourselves. Cara still loves gymnastics, dance, and princesses. Mom found a princess ballet camp for her to attend this summer. I bet she likes that. Here is a video that Dad made of her last ballet class.
We were all very excited to go see Dad perform at our church’s talent show. He sang a song called “Stars” from Les Mis. It was a very fun night and we were happy that Grandma, Grandpap, Aunt Beth her friend Megan came. Oh – I even lost a tooth at the talent show! Cara was very excited because there was a raffle at the event and Grandpap won a Disney Princess basket! Guess who came home with a bunch of new princess items?!
Last week was a fun week too. Our family from Pittsburgh came to visit! Aunt Gail, Uncle Joe and Aunt Doll all drove down for a week of fun. They got to do a lot of neat stuff, then my Uncle had a heart problem and ended up in the hospital. It all ended up fine and he feels better than ever. We had everyone to our house for dinner one night and we got to see them a few times at Grandma and Grandpap’s house. I am glad they were able to visit and hope to see them again soon.
Two nights ago, we went to an Allen Americans hockey game. It was game 5 of the finals. The Americans are our local minor league team. They won and now lead the series 3-2. Hoping they bring home the cup! I have been a fan since I was 4!
My cousin Emily turned 6 yesterday! We are celebrating this weekend. Both Cara and I like having our cousins nearby. We see them as often as possible. Grandma likes to call Cara “Lucy & Ethel”. Those two are funny together.
That is all that is going on here. I hope you are well and enjoying spring. I am counting down the days until school is out!
Love, Sean
