Today I am 88-months old!
Happy Spring!
Since we have last chatted there have been two holidays! First, St. Patrick’s Day, which is pretty popular in our house! Mom made corned beef and cabbage, Grandma, Grandpap and Aunt Beth came for dinner and our NY cousins sent us awesome “pots of chocolate” from Krause’s Candy.
The second was Easter, which I will cover later. My Dad came home from Australia at the beginning of Spring Break! We were so happy to see him. He was pretty happy to be home. He brought me a very cool Australian Rules Football jersey and ball. Cara got some books by an Australian author and a kangaroo puppet. We had a nice relaxing week off of school. I got to spend a couple nights with Grandma and cousin Emily spent the night at our house. We went to Top Golf with friends and an Allen Americans hockey game. We also made our annual spring trip to the Dallas Arboretum with friends. We have been making this trip for seven years! Thank you to Jessica for always taking such great photos of me and Cara!
Spring also means the start of baseball season! I have been helping Cara work on her hitting.
We also had our first baseball game of the Spring season. Our team did well and I had fun. Dad is the assistant coach and our team pitcher. I like playing 2nd base and on the pitcher’s mound. This photo is of me covering home plate.
We have been watching some baseball and every new season brings new hope for my NY Mets!
Cara has started another ballet session. She really seems to enjoy it. We both take gymnastics, which I think has helped my balance and coordination. I’m not exactly sure, but I think Cara was pretending to be a butterfly or a bunny in this photo (or perhaps she was just being Cara!).
Easter was lots of fun! We went to church and then the bunny came to our house. We hunted for eggs and our baskets. Cara got tickets to go see Disney on Ice with Mom, which she loved. I got tickets to go to an Aggie spring football game, which we will do next weekend.
Cara does love her bunny ears!
Next up was brunch, then to Grandma and Grandpap’s house for an Easter egg/present hunt! I got a signed Dirk photo in my basket! Cara got stompies and lots of princess items.
A few other fun things that have gone on this month include our class field trip to the Heritage Farm Museum. Mom came with me and we had a great day learning what it was like to live on a farm at the turn of the century.
We have been going back to the library a little more often now. I told Mom, “I am interested in a lot of different things.” I like to get all different kinds of library books. Right now, we are reading the Magic Tree House series of books, which Mom, me and Cara have enjoyed.
One last piece of exciting news … I have learned how to ride a bike! I am not sure why, but Mommy was very hesitant to work with me. You will have to ask her about that?! Or better, ask my Grandparents how it was to teach Mom to ride a bike. I think she was worried that I had her bike riding genes! Dad worked with me for 30 minutes last weekend and off I go. There’s a whole new world out there! (Note from Mom: I love Cara’s voice at the end! and way to go, Sean!)
Until next month! Love, Sean
