I am 79-months old today!
Hello and Happy official summer! Needless to say, things have been fun during my first full month of summer vacation. I wrapped up baseball summer season last weekend. I can tell I definitely improved this year. My hitting and fielding is getting a lot better. I made several outs playing this season and got some really good hits. My second to last game, I had the best hit ever! Deep, deep, deep to right field! It has been fun to play with my school friends on the team!
Speaking of teams … since baseball is over, I have rolled right over to a summer basketball league with some friends from school. I choose the number “00” for the Matrix, Shawn Marion of the Dallas Mavericks. I figure his name is the same as mine, but spelled differently AND I go to Marion elementary. His number is “0”, but in this league I had to be “00”. I’m still learning basketball and I am having fun! I think my defense is getting better.
I did a week at Vacation Bible school with my friends Jackson and Drew. It was at the same place I went to pre-school, so I also saw some of the kids who I went to pre-school with, which was fun. Last week, Cailin came to visit from New York! It was awesome. Both me and Cara counted down the days until she got here. We had a lot of fun. We went bowling, to the Dallas World Aquarium and she got to see my play basketball! We had a nice visit and we hope she comes back to see us next summer!
We made it to a Texas Ranger game, which was fun, even though they lost. It was bat day! Both me and Cara got full-sized wooden bats when we got to the game. Cara wanted to hold hers the whole time … Mommy didn’t think that was such a great idea.
We have been enjoying a lot of time in Grandma’s pool. I especially like it when cousins Abbie and Emily are there to play too. We celebrated Father’s Day and Abbie’s 10th birthday in June with a frog-themed birthday party and lots of swimming!
I lost my second tooth a couple weeks ago. It was the one on the bottom next to the first tooth I lost. Here’s the funny part … I was eating dinner and all of a sudden I noticed that my tooth was not loose anymore. As a matter of fact, there was no tooth anymore! YIKES! I swallowed my tooth! I had to write a letter to the tooth fairy explaining what happened. Thankfully, she understood and still left me a present. Cara and I finished swimming lessons. Mom cannot believe how much we learned! Cara can swim by herself with her head under water. She also does a great job floating on her back. I am swimming with good long strokes and I can do a great big canon ball off the side of the pool! Cara likes her gymnastics class. She is going once a week and is learning a lot. I think she also likes wearing her outfit as it is pink and sparkly! We have been enjoying playdates with friends and I had my friend Hagen spend the night! We have been to a couple of Plano Community Band concerts and have been swimming at our neighborhood pool. So far, summer has been good!
I think you know my dad is running for Texas State Senate again. The Elect Kless campaign participated in the annual 4th of July Independence Day parade in Plano! It was awesome! We had a classic fire truck that we decorated. Mom rode on top and dressed as the statue of liberty. Everyone helped out! I loved it and walked the whole route where I handed out “Elect Kless” literature to all the parade goers. I suggested that we have a theme with frogs for the parade – I thought we could say “Leaping into Libertarians”! We didn’t do that, but I still thought it was a good idea!
After the parade, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpap’s house for a full day of swimming, food, cookies and fun!
We are on vacation now in Kansas City … what might be in KC you ask … well … our awesome friends Brad and Britton and the All-Star Game! I sure hope we get tickets!
Have a great month!
Love, Sean
