I am 75-months old today!

Time sure seems to be flying by. Welcome to this month’s edition of my life, month by month.

I am very excited as baseball season has started. I am on a team with all my kindergarten friends. We are the “Rangers”! We have been practicing already for a month. Our games start in a couple of weeks. I have continued taking hockey skating lesson and am enjoying that. We are looking to see when I can join a team.

Last month, my mom and I went to a mother-son sock hop! And, we went with a group of my friends. We first went to dinner at the Purple Cow and then we headed on over to the high school for the dance. We had a great time all dressed up like the 50s! Mommy and her friends all had matching t-shirts with a sparkly letter initial. The boys all wore jeans, white t-shirts and letter jackets. I had a good time showing my moves on the dance floor.

DSC_0069We celebrated Valentine’s Day in style. We had heart-shaped waffles that Mom made for us for breakfast. I got tickets to go to the Lone Star Conference basketball tournament, which was a lot of fun. Grandma gave me some cool baseball gear and BeyBlades, which I like playing with. Several of my friends have them and now I do too!

The next weekend, we headed down to Austin to watch Uncle Mike

run his eighth marathon! This time, just Daddy, Cara and me went. Mom stayed home to work on some home projects. Grandma, Grandpap and Aunt Beth were there too, so that made it extra special and fun! Uncle Mike ran in honor of Uncle Chaz who passed away last year.

Finally, Feb 29 came around. I had been waiting for that day since Christmas! Aunt Beth had given me tickets to the Dallas Stars v. Pittsburgh Penguins game! It as a long time to wait, but finally the day arrived. It was a great night, the Penguins won in a shoot out! We had terrific seats just behind a goal. My Grandma, Grandpap, Auntie Rachel and Uncle Rich also were there.

You might be wondering what my sister Cara has been up to. Well, DSC_0089she just finished up gymnastics and soccer class. She seemingly enjoyed both, at least some of the time. She loves running around the baseball practice field with her soccer ball, but doesn’t always seem to like to listen to a coach. She has been pretty sick the last month. After Austin, she came home with two ear infections and two eye infections. She had to do eye drops, which I hate. But after a few doses, Cara just sat up and did her eye drops with no problem. She is a brave little girl.

In getting ready for baseball season, we had to make stop to the sporting goods store. Well, Cara saw a pink batting helmet that she had to have. We tried to get her the one with the cage on the front, but she informed us that that one was for when she would play football. She’s a funny little thing. I have been helping Cara with her batting practice in the backyard. She still hits the tee most of the time, but I’m working with her.

School is going well. I have enjoyed making so many friends with kids who live so close. I regularly play with Jackson, Hudson, Hagen and Ryan. It is always special when we get to go home with one another. Our school had open house last night. This is where my family can come in and see everything we have been working on this year. Daddy was out of town, but Grandma, Mommy and Cara came. I showed them all around. We looked at all the different rooms that I go to – Music, Art, PE, library and computers. I also am starting a new class called AIM. It stands for Activating Inquisitive Minds. I did a bunch of tests the last few months and have been recommended for the class. We are going to study all sorts of neat things including Ancient Egypt and Ancient China. I have been very interested in History since I read a book about Thomas Jefferson. Mommy is happy that I am in a class that wants me to ask all sorts of questions!

After school today Spring Break starts! I am not sure if me or Mommy is more excited. We are going to visit College Station and do some fun things around town. I am going to go to my first Dallas Mavs game and I get to spend that night at Grandma’s house.

I hope you have a terrific month!

love, Sean
