I am 74-months old today!
Greetings! Another month has flown by. It has been a good one. This past month I was awarded the “Marvelous Maverick” award at school. It was a pretty big deal. My teacher emailed Mom and told her before I even knew. Mom, Dad, Cara, Grandma and Grandpap were all there to see me get my award. The award recognizes model kids in each class. I was proud! Frankly though, I don’t know how impressed Cara was with the whole deal.
Another neat thing that happened at school was celebrating our 100th day of school. We did all sorts of neat 100-day activities. Mom had a shirt made for me and I brought a gift for my teacher. I counted out 100 rolls of Smarties and we put them in a container with a note that I wrote: “Miss Wright, Thank you for making me 100 days smarter.” I had to let me mom know that technically I had not made 100 days in school because I was out sick once last semester. She really enjoys my precision.
Last weekend our class mascot, Baxter Bear came home with me. I had to record Baxter’s adventures with our family. Of course the Super Bowl was on. I was a bit torn as to who to cheer for. I decided whichever team was winning at the end of the first quarter is who I would cheer for. The NY Giants ended up beating the Patriots. I know my NY family was happy with the outcome!
This last month I went to a couple of Allen American hockey games, which I enjoyed. My school had a spirit night at one game and I got to bring my friend Jackson with me to the game. We both had a lot of fun.
A few weeks ago, we visited the Sea Life Aquarium. It was interesting to walk through and see all the different types of creatures that live in the see. They even had sharks there!
A few other fun things that went on this month include some nice weather days where we got to ride our scooters. I like it when I get to ride my scooter to school. I also am doing great with my reading. Mom has me read to Cara and she loves it!
One of my most favorite pasttimes has started! That’s right! BASEBALL! We changed leagues this season so I could play closer to home. I am on a team with all my kindergarten friends. We have already had a couple of practices.
Cara is doing well. Grandma is taking her to gymnastics class now. She really likes doing the forward and backward rolls and she has been teaching me how to do them! We both love helping Mom in the kitchen. Cara keeps us laughing with her energetic and imaginative personality. One night she declared that it was silly pj night – and so we each picked out mismatched pajamas to wear.
I am still taking “church school” classes. Mom is my teacher. Before class we can write prayer intentions on the board. I always pray for my Mom, Dad and Cara. I figure they could always use an extra prayer.
It’s been a good month. I got to spend the night with Grandma a few weeks ago and she, Grandpap and Aunt Beth took me to a hockey game. I miss spending time with Grandma. My Dad is running for Texas State Senate again. He had his picture in the paper last weekend. We are all very proud of him!
I hope you have a great month and Happy Valentine’s Day!
