I am 64-months old today!
Spring is in the air! Time to PLAY BALL! We couldn’t be more excited to start baseball again. I am pretty adept at maneuvering Dad’s iPad and enjoy watching the condensed Mets games most morning, even when they lose. Mommy thinks this is strange that I like to watch even when we know they lose. Daddy has assured her that he would have done exactly the same thing when he was my age. Win or Lose, always a fan! I love my baseball team – the Texas Penguins. I am #8, just like my Daddy was when he played baseball.
It’s been a fun month! Mommy officially registered me for kindergarten. She “seems” to be doing a little bit better about the whole thing. I think she could crack at any moment though. During our school’s spring break, we headed down to the Dallas Arboretum with out group of friends to check out the pretty flowers and take our annual Easter photo. Cara was not as thrilled about the photo, but thanks to Grandma’s “tickle finger” she finally managed a smile. Of course, Mommy has a huge 16 by 20 photo of this in our living room.
Last week we headed to the AAC (American Airlines Center where the Dallas Stars and Dallas Mavericks play) to see Disney on Ice – Toy Story 3. While the show was neat, my favorite part was checking out all the banners with Stars/Mavericks on them! Another exciting sports moment was when the Lady Aggies basketball team won the National Championship! There was much whooping and hollering at our house! I was very proud and wore my Aggie t-shirt to bed and to school the next day.
The NY Mets are still my favorite baseball team and we have been watching their games. We put a NY Mets flag out in front of our house this week. I am pretty sure that we are the only ones in the area with a Mets flag in front of our house! Daddy is super happy that baseball season has started and we are all proud to wear our blue and orange! Even Cara knows the NY Mets logo and will say “Let’s go Mets!”
This month we also attended a musical production of Knuffle Bunny, which is one of our most favorite books by Mo Willems. The bluebonnets are blooming in Texas. Mommy and Grandma tried to get pictures of us in the bluebonnets, but not so much luck. I do enjoy it when we get to do our “silly picture”, which is usually me and Cara sticking our tongues out at the camera! I finished another round of skating lessons and have been promoted to “Beginner Skating” from “Intro!” We signed up for more lessons on the ice. Mom thinks this is a good plan for the summer! Grandma and I went to go see “Hop” last week too, it was a good movie.
Last week we had our pre-school open house. This is where our families can come and see all of the great artwork and projects we have done. My class also did a musical program. I am in the back row, about six over from the left. I do enjoy singing and everyone was proud of the job I did at the open house. We also had to make a poster about ourselves and all the things we love. Mommy and I did this together a couple of weeks ago. The pictures are all of things I like. Funny, we didn’t' see any other kids’ posters with the “Hilton Hotel” logo on it. I guess they like other chains.
Cara (2 1/2) has pretty well decided she doesn’t like to take her afternoon nap anymore, which makes our late afternoons a little on the tense side. She does pretty well, but sometimes can be difficult, we just roll through the best we can and she goes to bed early! Cara is having her second eye surgery on May 16. She loves playing outside and can swing on the big swing by herself! She also likes to play soccer with Mommy in the backyard. She tells Mommy, “you play goalie!” She is so fun and I am so glad I have a little sister.
One morning, I woke up and asked my Mom, “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” Mommy thought this was pretty funny … and answered, “No Sean, probably not.” I was thinking about the NY Mets and I am pretty sure Mom was thinking about another cup of coffee.
Hoppy Easter everyone!
Love, Sean
