I am 65-months old today
Another fun month has passed us by. We had a great Easter full of egg hunts, egg coloring, bunnies and family. It’s funny, Cara was not at all scared of the Easter bunny, but was terrified of Santa Claus. Maybe she is getting a little older and understands? Or maybe she likes that the bunnies bring chocolate and goodies! We joined our cousins for the City of Plano Easter egg hunt a few weeks ago. Some eggs had numbers that corresponded to special prizes. I won one! And it is something I loved … a football! Better than any candy. Cara did well too. Fortunately cousin Abbie was there to help her along.
Easter weekend brought another egg hunt at our church, Our Lady of Angels. After church, we went home and hunted for special baskets left by the bunny at our house. I got some new toys and books. Mommy painted me and Cara each a cross. You can see more about that on Mommy’s blog, which was a gift from Daddy for Easter. Next was a really nice brunch with our whole family. Afterwards, we went to Grandma and Grandpap’s house for another egg hunt. We had a lot of fun and I love spending time with my family. Earlier in the week Grandma and I dyed eggs. That was a lot of fun. I didn’t eat any, but I sure liked coloring them! Cara on the other hand loved eating the “pretty eggs.”
Baseball is going well. This past weekend I was recognized as player of the game! I got a trophy and a free yogurt gift certificate. I got the trophy for playing outstanding defense. I made an out at second base and I also played catcher. Daddy played catcher when he played ball, so it is special when I get to be the catcher. Plus I really liked it that my friend Miller was the pitcher! I love that Daddy is an assistant coach. Also, I really wanted my friend Megan to come and watch a game. I even wrote a note to her and attached my schedule so she would know when my games were. Megan, her mommy and sister came to a game! I was so excited. Megan and I have been friends for a few years now and we are in the same pre-school class. We play quite a bit together and our teacher Miss Rita tells Mommy that we “look out for each other.” I don’t know what that means, but Mommy sure thinks it is sweet.
This past Saturday we celebrated my cousin Emily’s 4th birthday. She had a gymnastics party. We all had a great time. Even Cara got into the action. She liked this swing that you could swing out over a foam pit and land in. She was very brave! Cara (2.5) is very daring. She amazes us all the time with how much she climbs at the playground. The weather has been really nice here so we have been spending afternoons at the park enjoying the weather before it is too hot.
Yesterday was Mother’s Day. We had everyone to our house for brunch and another celebration for Emily’s birthday. It was a nice relaxing day and Mommy was very excited about her present – an iPad! (Truth be told, I am pretty excited about it too!) We went to the park in the afternoon and flew some kites.
It has been a good month! A lot will be wrapping up in the next few weeks. Pre-school will come to an end and my weekly volunteering with Grandma at the library at Shepard Elementary will wrap up too. I am looking forward to summer time. My sister is having surgery on her eye next week, May 16. Please send good thoughts her way for a successful surgery. Thank you!
Love, Sean
