I am 63-months old today!
Greetings all! I hope you are having a good month. This has been a good one! That’s right … baseball season has started! Well, at least spring training – for me and the MLB (we have already watched some spring training MLB games!). I am playing ball again this season and am playing with the same coach I had last fall – Coach Matt. I know a couple kids on the team and surprise, surprise, Mommy signed on to be the team mom again. I am very excited about this season because Daddy is an Assistant Coach! We are doing throwing and catching drills at practice and then Daddy and I work on them at home. Our team is the Texas Penguins! Go Penguins!
There have been some other exciting things happening this last month. We went to the Imagination Movers concert! It was my second time to go … Mommy calls us “Mover heads” whatever that means?! This time, Daddy, Cara, Grandma and cousin Emily came too and we sat by our friends the Byrnes’. It was a super fun day and everyone had a great time.
Also this month was the Austin Marathon. We traveled south to watch Uncle Mike run his seventh marathon. He did great and it was nice to get out of town (and to stay in a Hilton property!).
I am still taking skating lessons and doing pretty well. I stay up on the ice most of the time. I am the youngest in my class of all boys (note from mom: read, class of all boys, lots of needless messing around). I love watching hockey and have gone to a couple of minor league games this past month – both the Allen Americans and Texas Tornadoes.
Phonics class has wrapped up. I am doing well sounding words out and putting words together. I even read a whole book to Cara – “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?” I love knowing what time it is and am working on learning how to tell time.
Cara (28 months) continues to amaze us all. She talks and talks and talks. She loves playing outside and playing with my stuff. She does like playing games and having books read to her. She is finally getting her two-year molars in, so that might help her eat a few more vegetables – about the only thing she doesn’t eat! She is a climber and loves to get in and out of her high chair. She climbs up the side of her crib, but can’t quite get herself in the crib yet. I think we are getting closer to putting her in a real bed.
Last week, Mommy and Daddy had to go away for work. You know what that means?! A trip to Camp Grandma! We had a great time. Grandma and Aunt Beth took me and Cara to a play – Winnie the Pooh. We went out to eat and enjoyed going to the library and Kindermusik.
Mommy is freaking out a little. Last week she had to pick up a packet to register me for Kindergarten in the fall. I am very excited. Mommy … not so much. I think she loves having me around.
I hope that the weather is warming up where you are and you are enjoying the sounds of spring … bats cracking, balls being thrown and bases being run!
xoxo, Sean
