Today I am 4!
Happy Birthday to Me!
Happy Birthday to Sean!
Happy Birthday to Me!
At 5:28 pm this afternoon, I will officially be 4!
Can you believe it has been four years? I can tell you one person who just cannot … Mommy. She says it feels like last week she was running around getting things ready for Christmas before waking up in labor two weeks before I was supposed to arrive! How’s that for planning?! Yes, it has been a terrific four years and I hope you have a few minutes to watch a video of pictures from mostly this year, but a few “oldies, but goodies.”
This month has been a lot of fun. I have several friends with birthdays around the same time as me so we have been going to lots of birthday parties including some neat places like the Heard Museum, a ranch, a princess and a gymnastics party. At one party we got to touch animals, I even touched a snake. I think my Mommy was about to pass out. It was also my grandma’s birthday this last month! We had a party for her at cousin Abbie and Emily’s house. Another highlight was Thanksgiving. I really liked it this year and even ate turkey for the first time on Thanksgiving. I love Grandma’s mashed potatoes too! Mostly I enjoyed playing with my cousins and sister.
Today is my last day of preschool before Christmas. I may be as excited about Christmas as my birthday. I can look at a calendar and find both dates! Mommy has me count the days from today to each of those dates. Recently I have become very aware of numbers and time. I love to watch any football game on TV and can often identify which team has more points. I am learning a lot about clocks too. Mommy found a cool font that she put on the computer that is a tracing font. She prints out sheets with my name on it and I trace the letters. I signed my name all by myself on Grandma’s birthday card. I was pretty proud!
We celebrated my birthday last weekend with a baseball-themed party at a local bounce house place. Everyone wore their favorite team’s jerseys. Of course, I wore the Mets! Here’s a video of singing Happy Birthday to me:
It is a little confusing that I had a party last weekend and then there is another celebration today. Actually, several celebrations. My preschool friends will sing to me at school, then I am meeting my cousins for ice cream in the afternoon, then we are going out to dinner and back to Grandma and Grandpap’s house for more cake and presents! (Note from Mommy … ssshhhh, for Sean’s birthday, I am taking him to Portland, OR on Friday to see the Imagination Movers in concert! I cannot wait to share this with Sean. We are thankful for Daddy’s airline miles and hotel points that allowed for this very special gift.)
Our house is all decorated waiting for Santa to come. I got to help Mommy put out all the decorations! And, I helped Grandma decorate too. They both said I was a big help. I’ve seen Santa a couple times now. Once at preschool and then yesterday at the mall. I keep telling him that I want a Grinch train. I sure hope he comes through for me.
My sister is doing great and all of a sudden learning so much stuff! She says a few words: mama, uh-oh, ba (for ball), nan-na (banana) and naan (for Sean). She points at things she wants and knows several body parts – belly, head, nose and toes. She eats like a champ and is finally getting more teeth in. Mommy thinks she looks like “Mater” from cars because she has had just one top tooth for a month. She is getting closer to walking and stands up by herself. She can get up and down our stairs pretty darn fast! I love playing with her, except when she is playing with my toys. Secretly though, I like playing with her toys!
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Love, Sean
