I am 49-months old today!

Hello and Happy New Year!
kless family christmas 2009 This morning in Allen (and in honor of me being 4!) the temperature is hovering between 4 and 5 degrees at our house! BRRRRR. That is cold. Mommy says her blood is too thin for this kind of weather. I am not too much of a fan either because we haven’t been able to go outside and play. I still love playing baseball and even have added football to my repertoire. I have become a little obsessed with the football. I love watching the games on TV and pretend I am running the same routes as the players. One other thing I have learned from watching the games is comparing numbers based on who is winning. Mommy seems to be happy that there is some sort of educational value to this current habit.

The last month was full of so many fun things! I love Christmas time. But before Christmas, me and Mommy took a special trip to Portland, OR to see the Imagination Movers in concert. They were awesome! I think Mommy even had a good time. Of course I loved the plane ride and we took a train to get to the concert. That same weekend was our annual family Christmas party. It is always a good time and Santa made a special appearance.

sean and abbie christmas pagentThe weeks before Christmas were filled with cookie decorating and eating, shopping, Christmas story times, looking at Christmas lights, decorating gingerbread houses, pageant rehearsals and most importantly, time with my family. I was part of our church’s Christmas pageant and cast as the “star!” I got to wear a fancy costume (gold lamé) and stood right in front of the baby Jesus. Christmas Eve was spent at Grandma and Grandpap’s house with all of our family. We had a great time eating and exchanging gifts. We also had snow on Christmas Eve and woke up to a white Christmas. Santa came through for me and brought me the Grinch train that I had wanted since I saw it in August while on vacation in Minnesota. We also got a swing set for the backyard that Daddy will set up as soon as it warms up a bit. I was worried about the swing set at first. I thought they were going to put it in the middle of my baseball field! But, it is going to go in the side yard, or the “dugout” as I call it. So, I feel a lot better about it.

cara christmas 2009 (1) Cara is doing great! She is walking all over the place. I think she just wants to keep up with me. She is saying more words including “football” and “bow”! She is so cute! Cara enjoyed Christmas and definitely wanted to be part of all the fun activities. She never warmed up to Santa – she screamed whenever we saw him. She got so many nice Christmas presents including new walking shoes! Mommy takes her to weekly Gymboree classes and they have a group of friends who they have lunch with. Cara loves playing with her toys and MY toys too!

It’s a new year and time to settle back into a routine. School started back up this week. We are working on writing the letters. I have been practicing my name a lot. I can spell “Sean” and “Kless.” Grandma is going to take me to baseball and music classes starting this month. I am pretty excited! I had my four-year check up. I am still very tall and gaining some weight. Mommy took a picture at the doctor’s office of me at the check up (she never goes anywhere without that camera!). Compare it to my one-year check up!One Year Check Up 2006 4 year check up

Oh, and a very exciting piece of news … I won our family’s annual cookie decorating contest, under 7 division! And, my Daddy won AGAIN for the adults (I think it is 5 of the last 7 years!). First time there has been a father/son winning team! Attached is a photo.2009 winning cookie
