I am 107-months old today!
Welcome to November! Finally, things are cooling off here in Texas.
We had a great time visiting the State Fair of Texas this month. I have been before, but this was Cara’s first time. We rode some rides, saw Big Texas and ate fried Oreos. We saw an amazing pumpkin carver and watched a demonstration of how baseball gloves are made.
Third grade is going well. We made ice cream in science, that was a pretty fun - and yummy - project. I’m looking forward to having a week off at Thanksgiving.
We celebrated several birthdays this month - Grandpap, Cara, Dad and Mom. Cara had a gymnastics party at the gym she takes classes at. All her friends had a good time. The football team that Cara cheers for made it to the Super Bowl! They had a lot of fun cheering at a stadium. Their big cheer competition is next weekend. Cara went on a school field trip to the Pumpkin Patch. She had a really great time and loved that Mom was a chaperone. Cara’s acting class also will wrap up this week. The theme of the class is “Frozen”. It’s the same characters, but they had to write and develop a play with a different situation. Cara is an evil Snow Cat. For Cara’s birthday, Dad was a Watch DOG, which is a program for Dads to spend a day at school with their kids. We always love having Dad in class. He gave a talk to the whole 3rd grade about running in an election.
Halloween was as fun as ever. Cara was a rainbow unicorn and I was a baseball player. We had lots of fun trick or treating. Grandma had a great costume - she was the Ice Bucket Challenge! We sure were glad that Halloween was on a Friday night this year. It made it even more fun.
Other very exciting news is that Cara lost her first tooth! She was very proud. In not so exciting tooth news, I had to get another tooth pulled.
Every year our school hosts a Veteran’s Day celebration. This is the fourth year that Grandpap came and we honored him. This was the first time that Cara got to be part of the celebration. We got to introduce Grandpap to everyone and it was broadcast throughout the school. We wrapped up the celebration with a parade through the school.
Baseball will wrap up this week with our end-of-season tournament. We won second place in the division this season. Good news - Basketball starts next week!
Have a great month!
love, Sean
