Today I am 8.

Today I am 8. My mom will tell you she remembers that day very clearly. It's funny, the day I was born, it was 17 degrees on the way to the hospital. Very cold for that time of year in Dallas. The last few days here in Dallas we have had a major winter storm with lots of ice and really cold temperatures, just like the day I was born. It's been a great 8 years. And, wow, time sure has flown by.

This last month has kicked off my favorite time of the year. I love seeing my family and friends. We celebrated Grandma's birthday and Thanksgiving, which are two times I get to see my cousins. We have a week off of school for Thanksgiving break, which is really nice. I got to see friends and relax. We went out to the Gaylord hotel and took some pictures with Grandma and Grandpap for their Christmas card. We enjoyed a visit to see Santa and welcomed our Elf who we named Fle, Elf spelled backwards.

Baseball has wrapped up just in time for basketball to start. I play with most of the same kids I play baseball with. Speaking of basketball, this year I had a basketball birthday party with my friend, Jackson. Our birthdays are 8 days apart and we pretty much have the same group of friends. We took a group of kids to the Texas Legends basketball game the last Saturday of Thanksgiving. It was a lot if fun!

The Destination Imagination team I am on is in full swing! We have been working hard on this year's challenge and we are making good progress. My team went and painted a pretty pine cone scene together and cousin Abbie joined us.

Cara is going to be in this year's Christmas pageant at church. She wants to be an angel. I'm taking the year off. Cara's cheerleading team ended also. They have a big showcase at the end of the season. Here's a link to the video of their team performing. Cara really loved being a cheerleader and we were all proud of her!

The last few days we have had a big ice storm and have been iced in our house for several days. They cancelled school! Mom was out of town visiting Brad & Britton and wasn't able to get home for a couple days! Dad was supposed to be a Watch DOG for my birthday today, but he will have to rescheduled since we don't have school.

We also had some family photos taken this month by our wonderful friend and photographer, Jessica. We were so pleased with how they turned out.

December would not be complete without a visit to Santa. It was great that Cara did not cry this year. We wrote up our lists and took them to the Big Guy! On my list this year is a Mac, rainbow loom and hockey sticks.

I wish you all the best for a Merry Christmas and new year!
