I am 81-months old today!

Welcome to September! I am happy to report the temperatures have finally lowered a little bit (and that was just yesterday!). Summer has wrapped up and the big news is that I have started first grade … more on that later. We finished up our summer with some fun outings. Our annual trip to Hawaiian Falls was definitely a highlight.hawaiian falls 2 Cara’s favorite part was the lazy river and liked the slides. Grandma, Aunt Beth and cousin Emily also joined us for the fun.

I started playing hockey in a “mini biscuits” class. The class is to teach us how to skate with a stick and puck – something I have been wanting to do for a long time! The cool thing is that we get to wear all the gear!

We said good bye to Miss Emily who helped take care of this summer. She is going back to college. Emily took us to the pool this summer, played outside and liked to play our make-up games too. We hope she has a good year in college and that we see her soon!

I got to see my first production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I loved it and I like to listen to the music. This musical has been one of families’ favorites for decades. Grandma and Mommy were so happy to take the next generation to see it.

This is a photo of me playing with my food. I like to figure out plays with M&Ms … Cara likes to help too, but she ends up eating all the players! (Well, I end up eating them too!).

We had a great summer full of good times and time well spent with family and friends, but alas, all good things come to an end.

I am now a first grader. Our school kicks off the school year with a back-to-school parade where the teachers parade through the neighborhood and we line the streets with signs and wave. This year I have Ms. Welch for a teacher. She is new to our school and will be getting married this fall! She seems very excited to be here and I am looking forward to learning a lot. I don’t have any of my closest friends from last year in my class, but I do have two of my closest baseball buddies – Hudson and Logan – in my class. I do get to see my friends on the playground and after school.

We celebrated Uncle Rich’s birthday at Grandma’s house and Grandma and Grandpap had special books for all of us for back-to-school. Cousin Emily started kindergarten this year! And Cousin Abbie is in 5th grade and Cara will start another year at Apple Creek preschool!

The night before school started, we had our traditional make-your-own pizza night. Grandma, Grandpap and Aunt Beth came up. I love making my own pizza! Cara loves it too. She loves to cook in the kitchen with Mom.

The next morning, Mommy made me my favorite breakfast, pancakes! Grandma came up to walk to school with me too.

After they took me to school, I heard that there was a party at my house?! Mommy invited friends over for an annual breakfast. Then, she went out to lunch with her friends! Good for Mom!

Cara started in the 3s class at Apple Creek Preschool this month. She has two teachers and one of her closest friends from last year is in her class. She goes to school two days a week and she gets to spend a day with Grandma. I remember how much I loved spending time with Grandma when I was little.

Fall baseball also has started. I am playing with my same team – the Rangers. We had our first game last week and we got to play under the lights at night! This season we have moved up to 7U where they keep score and track of if we win or lose! I am looking forward to a great time this fall with my team. That’s me playing catcher. I made sure I gave the pitcher (my dad!) a good target and would hold up how many outs we had.

Mommy likes to do all sorts of stuff on the computer. This is one thing that is a lot of fun. She interviews me and Cara at the start of each school year and records our answers. Some of our favorites have changed, but many have stayed the same.

I am very excited about today! Not only is it my 81-month birthday, but today is the first NFL Sunday! I love watching the Red Zone with Dad all afternoon. Cooler temperatures and football! How great is that?!

have a great month!
