I am 71-months old today!

Baseball. Yup, that sums up a good bit of what I have done with the last month of my life. Baseball, baseball and more baseball. And if there was one more word to add to the month, it would be “penguins” …
My fall baseball season with the Texas Penguins wrapped up last week. I had a great time and Daddy thinks I improved a lot this year. My last few at bats were really good ones with balls hit to the outfield. I love playing the game and at the end-of-season party my coach remarked at how he had not seen a kid love baseball at such a young age before!
When I wasn’t playing baseball, I was watching a lot of baseball. The Texas Rangers made it all the way to the World Series, again! It was so fun to be able to cheer them on. We were able to go to two ALCS games, including the game where the Rangers won to go to the World Series! That was awesome! Daddy and I went with Grandma and Grandpap to that game. And, my Daddy was able to get us tickets to a World Series game, which we saw the Rangers win. Mommy and Grandpap came with us to that game. While the Rangers didn’t win the Series this year, we can only hope that they will be back in again next year (along with my first love, the NY Mets!).
This last month also was full of birthdays! First, my sister turned 3! She is so funny, she runs around saying “3 is a magic number.” She had a party with her friends at Gymboree and then we had a family party at our house where we celebrated both Cara and Grandpap’s birthdays. Cara got a kitchen set for her birthday and we love playing pretend in it. She is doing great in school and still loves spending time with Grandma going to music class and library story time. She recently pointed out an “abacus” (pronounced perfectly) and told Grandma, “that’s used to count.” Cara had an eye check up this week and the doctor is very pleased with her vision, so that is always a relief. Mommy made this nice video of pictures for Cara’s birthday, check it out.
Mommy and Daddy also had their birthdays this month and the wedding anniversary. They have been married seven years already! We also just celebrated Halloween! I knew what I was going to be since November 1st of last year – a Pittsburgh Penguin hockey player. And Cara was a penguin! We carved pumpkins the night before Halloween and then went to our annual family Halloween party at my cousin’s Abbie and Emily’s house. AND GUESS WHAT? Grandma was a penguin for Halloween too!
So … other than baseball, penguins and Halloween, what else has been going on? Well, I got my first “report card” from school. You will be glad to know I am doing well and on track in all my subjects. I have learned a lot of new things and our class took a field trip to the pumpkin farm. I have made several new friends and get to see them a lot both during and after school. I love going to the library and bring home a new book every week. Mommy and I read from a chapter book most every night, currently, we are reading “Mr. Popper’s Penguins.” (you can’t be too surprised by that?!) This is the book that the movie was based on and it was written in 1938! I also am helping my dad manage his fantasy football team, so that keeps me pretty busy. We started choir rehearsal for this year’s Christmas pageant at church – Cara is going to be in in this year too!
Well, that is all for this month. I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and time off from school to spend with my family.
xoxo, Sean
P.S. You will be glad to know Mommy finally picked a paint color and our house has been painted. It no longer looks completely crazy.
