I am 2 and 2/3rds today!

Hello all!

Happy “still” summer as we call it in Texas. I have been having a good one and surviving the 100+ degree heat with lots of swimming and splash parks. In fact, today we are headed to a splash park to celebrate my friend Christopher’s birthday. I finished up my 600 minutes of reading and got to pick out a new book. I choose “How Do Dinosaur’s Go To Sleep?” Which is kind of funny, because my least favorite part of the day is going to bed at night. I am still in soccer through the end of this month, which has been fun. Although not as fun for Mommy. She is supposed to run with me up and down the field, but she isn’t moving too fast these days!

My big fun outing this last month was a trip to Houston to visit the NASA space center and to see the Mets play the Astros. We left Dallas and first visited Blue Bell Creamery – that is where they make ice cream!! Then on to Houston and to see the space center. I loved seeing all the rockets and of course my favorite was the space shuttle. We took a tram ride to see where the astronauts train and then to see actual rockets. It was neat! (Note: you could take pictures anywhere on the NASA tour, however, the ice cream tour the day before, you could take no pictures – isn’t that interesting?!) The next day, we toured the Nolan Ryan museum in Alvin, TX and then into Houston for the baseball game that night. Minute Maid park marks my sixth MLB field I have been to. Probably my favorite part of the trip was staying in the hotel. For some reason, I just really like hotels! I now can recognize the Hilton logo!

After we returned from Houston, Daddy’s cousin’s Adam and Paul came to visit. Cousin Adam is thinking of moving from NY to Dallas. We had a good time and they even sang “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” with me! I now like to accompany Daddy on the piano by playing my recorder. I told Mommy I wanted to take it in the car with me on our trip, but I think she “forgot” to pack it. Oh well. I do like to sing and now can sing “Happy Birthday”, “Meet the Mets” and of course “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” in addition to the standard little kid songs – “Old McDonald”, “Down by the Station” and so forth. (Note: on my “Old McDonald Farm” song that I sing, the Old McDonald has a helicopter!) I am also very brand aware. I can spot logos for: Costco, Kroger, FedEx, Kinkos, Starbucks, Pei Wei, The Container Store, Best Buy and Hilton Hotels! (I guess that sums up my parents buying habits!). I also know “Grandma’s Mall” and “Dillards.”

We are getting ready for our trip to NYC. We are going to a Yankee and a Met game while we are there. Daddy is working in the city all week, so Mommy and I will be playing tourist. Another really neat thing I did last week was hear my sister’s heart beat. I went to the doctor with Mommy and the doctor let me listen. It sounded like she had a train in there!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.
Love, Sean
