I am 23 months old today

Hello everyone! I hope you had a great month and a Happy Halloween. I kind of liked Halloween this year. By the end of trick-or-treating I was really enjoying it! Of course it was extra fun that I was with my cousins! I was a spider. I had several opportunities to wear my costume. My Gymboree class had a day where we all dressed up, pre-school had a parade and of course there was the big night itself. Boy, was I surprised when we opened the door and Grandma and Aunt Beth were dressed up too!! Mommy also took me to Kinkos to show me off. I have spent a lot of time at Kinkos since I was born. I can identify a FedEx Kinkos location, FedEx truck, package and the Kinkos logo very well. Next to our Kinkos is another favorite place, “Starbucks!” Yes, my speech is really taking off! (Note: I also know “wine”, which there seems to be a lot of in our house!)

Earlier this month I made a trip to Austin to see my Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda (plus kitty cousins – Otis and Caledonia). Mommy and Daddy had to work, which was fine with me. Uncle Mike took me and Grandma all over to all the fun things in Austin for a kid. I rode a train, saw turtles and peacocks and played on a very large xylophone. We fed ducks and played soccer. It was a great visit.

Speaking of great visits, our friends who we vacationed with this summer in Michigan/Canada, came down to visit us in Texas! Mr. & Mrs. Bieschke were here for more than a week and we had all sorts of fun. We celebrated Halloween together and the baptism of my new cousin, Emily. We all celebrated Mommy and Daddy’s birthdays while they were here. It was one party after another. We also had a visit from Mommy’s friend Alison and her baby, Sam. It was so nice to see them!

Another fun first this month was my first football game. I am starting to understand that there are different games played with balls. I know baseball and now I can recognize football. I enjoyed the football game. It was Mommy’s high school versus their big rival (Plano vs. Plano East). We made it to the third quarter, just to make sure I could see the half time show! I loved the band. Now, if someone says “football”, I say “band.” We are planning to go to a college football this month. Mommy’s college, Texas A&M, versus the University of Texas. Should be a good time …

A few other fun notes from me … Grandma took me to an art class plus I go to a library reading program. I really like to sing in church. I don’t know all the words, but you should hear Mommy sing in the car (she makes up all sorts of words to songs!). I also discovered that many of my pants have pockets, which are really cool. This month I was stung by a wasp, got oozy gel in my eye (only caused “temporary discomfort” based on the package, which I can attest to), drank shampoo and cut my chin at Emily’s baptism party. I do like to run and often fall down. Daddy said that I got Mommy and Daddy’s coordination gene. Mommy is very concerned about ending up in the hospital, which would not be a good thing.

Daddy left yesterday for a long trip to New Zealand and Australia. We are very proud of the work Daddy does. Oh, another couple of favorite words: “aardvark” and “email”!

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Love, Sean
