I am one-year old today!

Hi everyone – Well, if you can believe it, an entire year has gone by since I made my debut. It sure has been a great year and I have enjoyed keeping you updated on my life with my monthly emails. I love hearing from you too, so do my parents.

I had a great first birthday. I stayed the night last night with Grandma and Grandpap. Mommy was getting everything ready for my big party. Daddy was out of town for work so Mommy was pretty busy. I tend to be a distraction when I am with Mommy, so off I went to Grandma’s house! I have been enjoying the holiday decorations. I love lights and I love all the musical holiday items at Grandma’s. I love pressing all their buttons and making them dance and sing at the same time. After playing most of the day today, off we went to my house for my big party. Daddy made it home from his trip in time and the house was full of festive birthday fun. My little Gymboree friends arrived and many of Mommy and Daddy’s friends and of course family were there to help me celebrate. Then, at 5:28 pm, the moment I was born, we sang Happy Birthday. Next was cake!! I sure liked it. I was so tired that toward the end of my party, I feel asleep while eating my dinner. It was wonderful to celebrate with so many friends and family. Thank you to everyone who came.

As for other exciting things happening … I had my first Thanksgiving. I weigh close to 24 pounds now, so I was bigger than our Thanksgiving turkey. It was a very nice day and we sure ate a lot. I liked the sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes the best. This past week, Grandma and Mommy dragged me to the mall to have my picture taken with a guy in a red suit who is to bring me presents on Christmas. I wasn’t too sure about him. I cried, but I think they got one good picture of me before I started to scream.

As I mentioned earlier, I do love lights and Christmas is a great time for lots of lights! I love to point too and I keep my pointer finger ready for action, just in case something great comes up that I need to point at. We like to drive around and look at the lights on the houses at night. I can’t believe how pretty they all are. I wish it was Christmas all the time. This past week, I went to a Christmas party with my little Gymboree friends. We had a book exchange and a real good time. I also went to the Dallas Aquarium with the group and enjoyed checking out the animals.

We went to a family Christmas party that cousin Abbie and her cousin Christopher hosted. It was a lot of fun. Santa even came and gave me a present!

I am starting to show more signs of walking, but no actual first steps. Mommy has taught me how to go down the stairs so I don’t hurt myself, a good skill to have. I still love being read to and I babble constantly. I have taken to climbing up on furniture, particularly tables.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and I will talk to you next year!

xoxo, Sean
