11 Months Old Today

Hi everyone! Well, here it is, another month has gone by and I am sitting down reflecting on the last month. One thing is for sure – I have been a busy guy this last month!

We first went to Jacksonville, Florida for our friend’s Rob and Anita’s wedding party. It was great fun! They had a luau celebration and a Polynesian dance show. There were hula girls and fire! I loved it. I sat transfixed for a whole hour. It was a great time and we were so happy to share such a special evening with Rob and Anita. I hope they are as happy together as my Mommy and Daddy are! During the same time, Grandma went to Pittsburgh for a week. She missed me a lot, but probably Mommy missed Grandma more since I spend Mondays and Fridays with Grandma. That’s ok, I just got to spend more time with Mommy! Daddy did take a day off of work to hang out with me. It was cool.

It was during the week Grandma was gone that I gave Mommy and Daddy a big scare. Daddy left his laptop in the living room. When he came back to the room, I had pulled off two keys. Daddy found only one key. He and Mommy ripped apart the living room looking for the other key. They kept giving me very odd looks. I couldn’t figure out what they were so worried about. Well, after they could not find the key, off we went to the doctor. The doctor sent me for xrays, which showed nothing. They thought I swallowed the key (it was the backspace key for those of you who were wondering) and it was already in my tummy. Well, the only thing we could do was wait for it to come out the other end. Mommy was a mess by the time we got home. And guess what, they were putting the living room back together and Mommy looked down into this crevice of our end table, and guess what was there? The back space key! I couldn’t figure out what the commotion was all about!

The next Friday we left to go on our big trip to NY. First stop was to our friends Pam and Amanda in NJ. They were getting ready to welcome their twin boys born on Nov. 1. It was great seeing them. Next we went to Long Island and spent the day with my half sisters. It was fun. We ate pizza, went to a pumpkin farm and went out to dinner. They sure liked me! I liked seeing them too. Daddy had to work the next couple days so me and Mommy hung out. We did go to a fancy dinner with Daddy’s work people. Mommy and I saw our friend Alison at Mommy’s favorite NJ diner. We went into NYC, my very first time, and had dinner with our friend Philip (remember him from last month? He is the one with the Sports Museum!). He really liked me too. Daddy’s friend Apryl from work joined us too. She is a singer and has a CD. My Daddy knows all sorts of great people. We then headed upstate to visit all of my family there. We met my baby cousins – Jack and Brian. They were great fun! I looked like an Amazon baby next to them. They are doing well. We met dear friends for dinner one night, which was wonderful. My Aunt Eileen hosted a dinner party for us so we could see all of our family. Did I tell you she is having a baby too? We just found out that I will have a girl cousin. My Meema and Papa were happy to see me too. It was very nice that everyone took off work just so they could hang out with me. After a few days in Kingston, we headed south back to NJ where we met more friends (I didn’t know my parents knew so many people!) for dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant. In the morning we went and visited Joan and Art in Cranford. We had breakfast and then visited their office before heading to the airport to fly home. Grandma picked us up. She sure was happy to see me!

Next up is Halloween! I went to my first symphony – it was called a “Spooky Symphony” and I went with Grandma, cousin Abbie, Daddy and Mommy. I liked hearing all the instruments and I got to wear my costume. I was a blue octopus! Mommy made sure I had lots of opportunities to wear my costume. At Gymboree, we had dress up day, which was loads of fun. It was so cute seeing my little friends dressed up. Mommy took me to the senior center in my costume and to a story time. We visited Grandma at her school too in my costume. All the teachers made a big fuss over me. Then it was Halloween night! It was very cold for Texas. We went to Abbie’s grandparents house to wait for everyone to come for a party. My Grandma and Pap Pap were coming over too. They rang the door bell and guess what? They were BOTH dressed up! You will have to look at the pictures. It was pretty unbelievable. I was scared at first and cried, but eventually I figured out that it was them. It sure was a Halloween to remember.

Other than all the above, I have been doing well. I got my flu shot and I have had a cough, so I have been to the doctor a lot this month (plus the eating the key incident). I am almost 22 pounds. We got me a new big boy car seat. I am not walking, but standing for a few seconds before I fall over. I love being read to and swinging on the swings at the park. My Daddy celebrated his 40th birthday last week! Mommy gave him a trip to California – I didn’t see my name on the ticket, so I think I am at Grandma and Grandpap’s house while they are gone over New Years. Mommy also celebrated a birthday. She wanted me to point out that she is several years younger than Daddy! I’m not sure if I told you that my Auntie Rachel is pregnant – so that means another cousin! There are lots of us babies around. I love to play with my toys now, especially my blocks. I like it when someone builds a tower with the blocks so I can knock it down. My Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda are coming for a visit this weekend, it will be nice to see them. We still go to Gymboree, which I love. There is a group of Mommies and babies who go out to eat after class. Mommy enjoys that.

The next time I write I will be a whole year old! Don’t forget about my birthday party – it is from 4-8 pm on Saturday, December 9. You can come anytime, just let my mommy know – she wants to be sure there is enough beer! I don’t know what beer is, but it sounds like it is a real bad thing to not have enough of it at a party!!

We hope you are all well and have a Happy Thanksgiving, Love, Sean
