Today I am 102-months old
Happy Summer Vacation!
We finished school up a couple days ago and I am looking forward to summer. It already has been fun - I have gotten to sleepover at one of my friends’ house and we have had a popsicle party in the park with a bunch of 2nd graders … now 3rd graders! I had a good year in 2nd grade and on the last day of school was awarded a certificate for having perfect attendance for the year! I really liked Mrs. Graham, my teacher. We shared a love of sports!
Cara also finished up pre-school and will be starting Kindergarten at Marion this fall. She is pretty excited, but last night told mom that she was going to miss her. She wants to take a picture of her and mom to school to keep in her backpack. Here is a link to Cara’s end-of-year performance. They use the Letter People curriculum and she dressed as Mrs. A.
I made my First Communion on May 10. It was a wonderful day and I was so happy that so much of my family was here to celebrate with me. At our church, Our Lady of Angels, they have the kids help with many parts of the Mass. I was an intercessory prayer reader. We enjoyed celebrating with everyone afterwards at a party at home. Here is a video of my special day. Many thanks to Jessica Karlinski for taking so many of the wonderful photographs.
Baseball season is wrapping up. We are down to one last tournament. It has been a good season and I have liked my new team. I have gotten to play a variety of positions and my coach has said that I am a great utility player, which means he can put me anywhere. This summer, I am going to play in a flag football league with several of the kids on our team. It’s indoors, which makes it tolerable. We have had one practice so far and I like it. I started gymnastics again. There was a class the same time Cara was in a class, so it worked out really well.
Mom and Cara have been having fun with their friends this whole school year. They get together with a group each Friday and call it “Friday Friends.” They go all sorts of fun places - the zoo, train story time, lunch and the park. Cara has enjoyed being with her friends, especially Jake who she has known almost her whole life (he’s three weeks younger, otherwise it would be her whole life!). I am happy that I will get to join in on the fun that they have been having! Cara enjoyed her first softball season! Cheerleading is starting up in a few weeks and mom is once again coaching her team. Cara did finally get to meet Elsa from Frozen at a birthday party!
We are looking forward to summer break and going to fun camps and spending time with friends. I also hope to get to go to Grandma and Grandpap’s house this summer. They are re-doing their pool right now and it should be ready in a week or two. A big congratulations to my cousin Abbie for graduating from 6th grade. We are proud of her!
Love, Sean
