Today I am 93-months old!

Here we are again. Another month has passed by and another milestone as well. I started 2nd grade a couple weeks ago! It has been going well so far. I really like my teacher, Mrs. Graham. She is really nice and likes sports. I have some good friends in my class and I have been enjoying myself. We aren’t always able to go outside to play since it still has been extremely hot − 100+ degrees - but that should change soon!

We spent four days in San Antonio for a family vacation. It was a lot of fun. We saw the Alamo and went on a riverboat tour. We spent a day at Aquatica, which is the big water park next to Sea World. I loved the wave pool best! The next day we spent at Sea World. We went on a tour where we got to go and do some pretty cool stuff. We fed the dolphins and sea lions and had a front row seat for the Shamu show. We also got to meet a 12 foot Burmese Python up close! EEK! Mom was scared and Cara wanted to hold it’s head! LOL! It was a great day and we all enjoyed ourselves. On our way back we stopped in Austin to have lunch with Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda. It was fun to visit them and to pet Otis the kitty. Cali, their other cat, decided to hide in a basket of dirty laundry during our visit.

After our trip, we had just 2 weeks before school started. We definitely made the most of it. We spent a few days with Grandma, which is always fun. We went to Hawaiian Falls together and saw the movie Planes. Plus lots of swimming and just relaxing made for a great few days.

The week before school started had lots of fun things. Our school does a Back To School parade with all the teachers. We have donuts in the park beforehand and it is a great time to see our school friends before we all head back to school. That same evening we had Meet the Teacher night. As I mentioned, my teacher is Mrs. Graham. She gave us graham crackers the first day of school! Ha ha!

We wrapped up our summer boys book club with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Our school librarian came to the meeting. I liked the book club and we plan to continue this school year.

Cara is doing well and also started school last week. She is going to Apple Creek preschool two days a week. This year, Grandma will again pick her up on Tuesdays, which is Cara’s most favorite day of the week. She gets to spend the whole day Tuesday with her, spend the night and then again on Wednesday.

Cara started ballet again and is a cheerleader this fall. Mommy is her coach, which is a little funny to watch. :) They had their first game on Saturday - both Cara and Mommy did well! Cara was very loud - how surprising! Mommy gave me the job of taking pictures, which was fun. Dad had to miss the game, but he will be there next week! Both Cara and I are continuing with gymnastics. Mommy and Cara have been enjoying some time together. They went to the Dallas Zoo and the Perot Museum together.

The first day of school was good. We had “Make Your Own Pizza” the night before, just like the last two years. I had pancakes for breakfast – also like the last two years. I guess that is now tradition. After drop off, Mommy hosted a brunch at our house for everyone. Then she goes and have lunch with her friends she has had since I was a baby! I think she likes being around a lot of other people to make her feel not as sad that I am gone.

Grandma and Grandpap just returned from a two-week trip to Pittsburgh and Michigan. They had a great time visiting friends and family. They got to go to a Pirates game and then a game in the Big House! How awesome! I missed them, but now they are back.

Things are going well. We are working on getting back into our school year routine. Religious education starts today, along with baseball and gymnastics, plus Cara’s activities, we plan to stay on our toes.
Have a great month!
love, Sean
