I am 67-months old today!
So, how is your summer going? I hope well. Ours has been a lot of fun so far. We have managed to go swimming quite a bit and I have been to the splash park a few times too. My sister, Cara, loves the water! She is so brave, she will just go right under water and swim. She’s never had one lesson!
We are celebrating the Dallas Maverick’s NBA Title Win here in Big D! As you can imagine, I am over the moon. I have watched all of the games and Mommy lets me stay up and watch the end! It has been very exciting! I was not even one year old the last time the Mavs made it to the finals! Mommy and Grandpap were at the game where the Mavs lost to the Heat, so to have another chance to win the title was very exciting. It was cool to see the city get behind the team. Grandpap went to the victory parade, I really wanted to go, but stayed and watched it on tv with Grandma instead.
My teeball season has wrapped up. You will be glad to know that we all got trophies. We had a very fun team party that Mommy organized. She even made these super cool baseball cookies. Our team was the Texas Penguins, which is why the TxP is on the cookies. I am looking forward to playing with Coach Matt and several of my teammates again in the fall. I also had the opportunity to play in a tournament with the 8U TxP team! I loved it. Daddy made a video of some highlights.
While my season may be done, we have found several opportunities to see baseball! Our beloved NY Mets came to play the Texas Rangers in a three-game series a couple of weeks ago. We went to all three games. Yes, it was a bit on the hot side, but it was fun to see the Mets win a couple! We went a couple hours early to watch batting practice and to get autographs. We go two signatures – the manager, Terry Collins, and a relief pitcher, Tim Byrdak. We decided to make a weekend of it and stayed out at a hotel by the ballpark. Friday night my favorite Dallas Maverick MVP threw out the first pitch … #41, Dirk Nowitzki! We went to the Saturday game with our Mets friends, the Byrnes’. Cara enjoyed herself too, but by the last game on Sunday, we were all pretty tired. And not to mention, hot.
This past month, Cailin came to visit us! It was super fun to have her here. She came to my last teeball game of the year. We did some fun things like swim at Grandma’s house and go to an outdoor concert. It was great that she was here for Father’s Day, I know Daddy was happy to have her here too.
We celebrated Father’s Day at Grandma and Grandpap’s house with a pool party. I was so glad my cousins were there with us. I always like seeing Abbie and Emily.
This past weekend we celebrated the 4th of July. It was a weekend filled with … you guessed it! Baseball! We went to two Frisco RoughRiders’ games and had a lot of fun. We also had a pool party at Grandma and Grandpap’s house, along with a parade, fireworks and a patriotic concert!
So we are in the midst of packing up and heading out. By the time you read this (Mommy has ALWAYS wanted to type that!), we will be on another exciting adventure that will take us to Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh. Since I am sure that will be a ton of fun and hold many adventures I will wait until next month to give you the update!
have a great July!
Love, Sean
