Today I am 54-months old
Hello all! Happy Summer! And when I say “Summer”, I mean HOT! It is hot here in Texas. Hotter than normal even for this time of the year, which of course means “POOL!” Thankfully there is a pool at Grandma and Grandpap’s house that we have easy and frequent access to. I have been swimming a bunch of times already and look forward to more pool time. Guess who else loves the pool? That’s right, Cara! She is supposed to stay in this little floaty thing, but she keeps jumping out and trying to swim. I think it is going to be a super fun summer!
This past month I finished up pre-school for the year. Next year I will be in the “4s” classroom and I will go to school three days a week. (Mommy and Grandma still want to have a day with me before I start kindergarten in the fall.) One of the neatest things my teacher, Miss Kim, did was have us draw a picture on the first day of school and then again on the last day of school. Mommy was amazed at how much I have improved. I love that I can recognize all my letters, both upper and lower case, plus I know all the sounds the letters make. This helps me sound out the names of the sports teams that I am not sure of yet. I am doing lots of writing and this past weekend made a list of things I want to take on our upcoming weekend trip to Austin.
We are headed south to Austin this weekend to visit Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda and for my Daddy to attend the Libertarian State Convention. He is working hard on his campaign. If you are on Facebook, look for the “Elect Ed Kless” fan page and join! Or visit: www.electkless.com for more info. As for other travels, we are planning a trip to California later this month. Daddy has a bunch of work and we are “tagging along for the ride!”
I am still loving all sports and am thrilled with the Stanley Cup and NBA finals games. We watch them intently and I like to act out what they are doing on TV. Cara has started to join me too. She is pretty funny running back and forth with a little hockey stick yelling “score” and “hockey!” I am finishing up my first official tee ball season in a couple of weeks. I have loved it. I have played a lot of positions, but really like playing first base. My hitting has improved and I can hit the ball out of the infield.
Cara (19 months) is doing great. She is a bit of a climber – I think it is so she can keep up with me! Mommy is not too sure about that. She continues to amaze us with her vocabulary and just last night picked up three objects and counted them, “one, two, three.” She loves to color, read and play outside. She is a good eater and mostly good sleeper, at least at night. Sometimes she does not take very good afternoon naps, but she always wakes up happy and excited to see me. Cara is obsessed with shoes and loves these pink butterfly boots that a friend gave us. I put a picture up here for you to see her in her full outfit!
We have some fun summer activities planned. Numerous trips to the pool, splash park and the Dallas Children’s Museum are on the list. Grandma signed me up for art class and Kindermusik. We have been to a couple of RoughRider baseball games and of course we will be working on Daddy’s campaign. Mommy is planning a float in the Plano 4th of July parade! Should be fun!
We have enjoyed some company already this summer. Our dear friend “Uncle” Bill, and Jim and Mary Ann Alexander. Mary Ann was Grandma’s maid of honor and Bill is her brother. This week my Great Uncle Chaz and Great Aunt Doll will come from Pittsburgh. Also, one of Mommy’s friends from growing up in Plano is an author of children’s books and now lives in San Diego. She was here a couple weeks ago and we went to a book signing and story time. Check her out: http://momcooksglutenfree.blogspot.com/
Until next month,
Love, Sean
