Today I am 52-months old!
Hello, it’s me again. Sean. I am 52-months old today. Can you believe it? A lot sure has happened in these 52 months! And every month gets more and more fun. Last weekend was Easter. I managed to get involved with two Easter egg hunts and then of course there was a Easter gift hunt at our house (I got a new hockey stick, some books, a swimming shirt and some other things) and then of course the best basket of all at Grandma and Grandpap’s house. Cara was really in on the Easter action this year too. She loved hunting eggs and the Bunny left her a new swing for our swingset, which she loves. As a matter of fact, Cara will stand by the back door most days and just say “swing, swing, swing” over and over again. The girl does like her swing! We shared Easter with our cousins and Grandma, Grandpap and Aunt Beth. After church, we went to brunch together. It was a very nice day. Here are a lot of pictures from our Easter celebration.
There have been several other highlights this month. Mommy took me and Cara to a pottery painting class with some of my friends. We made a super cute pot that I really wanted to put a flower in. Mommy thought it would be a better idea to grow a plant in another pot. That was a good idea, because Cara likes to move the pot around and she dropped it, breaking it. This is also the time where we discovered that Cara likes to eat dirt. Mommy is a little stressed about this whole situation. We also took a fun trip to the Dallas Arboretum with our friends. Grandma and Aunt Beth came too, which made it even more fun. After a picnic lunch and a photo session, we went to a petting zoo and visited the fountains.
Another fun outing this month was to the American Airlines arena to see Disney on Ice. The show was ok, but I was thrilled to be at any place where 1. There is a mention of American Airlines; 2. A hockey team plays; and 3. Where a basketball team plays. Grandma came and brought cousin Emily too. Cara wasn’t too thrilled with the show and spent most of the second half outside with Mommy. I also saw another live performance at the Eismann Center and celebrated St. Patrick’s day an Austrian restaurant. We are planning on going the Irish pub for Oktoberfest, Mommy assures me this all balances out.
We had some special visitors this month. Our good friends Brad and Britton visited from Kansas City. This meant a trip to the airplane museum and the Pancake House – another two of my favorite places! Brad played hockey in the backyard with me, which I loved. The next weekend, my Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda came up from Austin for a visit. Everyone came to our house for dinner and I got them to play soccer with me for awhile. That was great fun too. I love seeing Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda, they are so much fun.
I am ending my tee ball session next week, but Grandma has signed me up for cooking school! That should be fun. The good news on the tee ball front is that I am going to be on a real tee ball team. We are the Red Sox and we start “spring training” later this month. I have new baseball cleats, blue, of course, and Daddy and I are going to go buy a bat. My current tee ball coach tried to “recruit” me for his team, but I had already “committed” to another team. I was fascinated by the final four. I was routing for Butler the whole time, but Duke ended up winning. I am still in Kindermusik, which I love. We had a lesson on boats and the teacher was asking what kind of food is on your boat. While most kids said “hot dogs, candy, chicken nuggets,” my response was, “expired food.” Don’t think the teacher saw that one coming!
Daddy has been traveling a lot lately. He just surpassed the million miles flown mark with American Airlines. That sure is a lot of miles! His campaign is going well. If you would like to learn more, please visit www.electkless.com. My Daddy was also published twice this month – once in the Harvard Business Review and again in the Journal of Accountancy.
Cara is doing great! She loves playing outside and is so sweet. Her vocabulary gets bigger every day. She loves her new swing and always tries to play whatever ball game I am playing in the backyard. She is a great outfielder and a heck of a field hockey player! She can do the hand motions for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Itsy Bitsy Spider. We are so happy here at the Kless house as baseball season has started! By the second day of the season, Cara could recognize the Mets logo and say “Mets.” She is a smarty pants!
WOW – that seems like a month full of activities! Not to mention, pre-school, another snow day, Daddy assembling our playset and weekly library visits. No wonder I am tired at the end of the day (Mommy too!).
Happy Spring!
Love, Sean
