I am 38-months old today
Aloha everyone!
This past month was so much fun! So many big exciting things happened in such a short period of time. First, let me give you an update on Cara. My sister is nearly four months old (on the 23rd). She smiles all the time, especially when she is done eating, which mommy does feel like is quite often. She is doing really well sleeping at night, most nights at least. I can tell she really likes me because she will turn her head to follow me whenever I am in the room. She’ll go to the doctor the end of the month for her four-month check up.
Our big trip was this past month to Kauai, which is an island in the northern Hawaiian chain. Daddy got to go with his company and thought it a wise idea to bring the rest of his family along. This was my first time on a plane in quite some time and Cara’s very first time on the plane. We had a four hour delay out of Dallas, which made for a very long day of travel. I am happy to report that we all were very well behaved through the whole ordeal. When we got on the plane, Daddy took me to the bathroom, which was right near the cockpit. The pilot invited me in to take a look around. The co-pilot was not in there so I sat in his chair. The pilot asked me, “I don’t have a co-pilot yet, do you want to help me fly the plane?” I looked at him and said, “I don’t think I should do that. Maybe when I am older!” The other part of the trip I liked was pulling my new wheelie back pack. It held all my important stuff: soft blanket, my “Cars”, books and my iPod, which Daddy had loaded with my favorite movies. After landing in Kauai we spent nearly a week in “paradise” as Mommy calls it. We rented a car and toured the island for a couple days before staying put at the hotel. The hotel was great by me. It had lots of pools to swim in, including waterfalls and caves, and a beach on the ocean. I got to go on a kayak, thanks to one of Daddy’s friends, feed koi (type of fish), watch a torch lighting ceremony and listen to a parrot named “Sugar” say “meow,” which I thought was hysterical. As you can only imagine, Mommy took a lot of pictures, 704 to be exact. She managed to put together this video for you with a few (60 ish) of the pictures. The video runs less than 4 minutes and you can see our adventures.
While in Hawaii, we were very excited to watch the Super Bowl! Our hometown team (Mommy’s hometown at least!) the Pittsburgh Steelers won. It was a great game and we were all jumping up and down in the hotel’s golf bar. More importantly though, February 1 marked the 40th wedding anniversary of my Grandma and Grandpap. We were sad to not be with them on their special day, but made up for it by going to a special Mass and a very fancy dinner this past weekend.
Mommy signed me up for gymnastics classes. We went to one, but I did not participate. Mommy thinks I was still jet lagged, which is probably true. I think we are all finally readjusted to the time zone. I started back in the library program with Grandma. I have moved up to the “3”s program. It is different, but I think I will like it. The weather has been nice here. This past weekend Daddy and I played baseball in the backyard. Now that football is over, we have baseball to look forward to! I hope the Mets have a great season!! I also went to a cool birthday party – it was at “Young Chef’s Academy.” I made a pizza all by myself and decorated a cupcake.
Next weekend we are headed to Austin to watch my Uncle Mike run his fifth marathon!
Until next month, Love, Sean
