I am 35-months old today

Hello everyone! What an exciting month I have had!! I have been very busy with my fall activities including a new art class that I attend with Grandma on Tuesday nights. I visited a pumpkin patch with my cousin Emily and went to the Dallas Arboretum for all of their fall festivities. Mommy and Daddy also took me to my very first air show. I really loved seeing all of the airplanes. We even got to go into the cockpit of a 777. This month we celebrated Grandpap’s birthday as well as Mommy and Daddy’s birthday. AND, their four-year wedding anniversary. However, the most exciting part of my month also happened on Mommy and Daddy’s anniversary (October 23). I became a big brother.

My sister Cara Lyn Kless was born at 7:49 am. She was 8 pounds 3 ounces and 19 inches long. I got to stay with Grandma for several days while Mommy was in the hospital. Daddy stayed in the hospital with Mommy and Cara too. I got to visit every day and I have to tell you, I liked the hospital almost as much as I like hotels! They were very similar. Cool TV, bed (although this one had all kinds of controls!), a couch that turns into a bed and a freezer full of Blue Bell ice cream! I thought Mommy was very lucky to stay in the hospital. Mommy does not agree with this and was very happy to be released from the hospital so she could get back to her house.

I am “adjusting” as Mommy calls it to being a big brother, just as she is adjusting to being a family of four. I have come to the conclusion that Cara is permanent. We have even had family portraits taken, so you know Mommy isn’t kidding around. My sister doesn’t do too much yet. There is quite a bit of crying, which my parents assure me I did too when I was “her age.” She eats often and does sleep quite a bit. She has been to two of my very favorite places already – The Original Pancake House and Kinkos! She also has been to Dr. Cook, my pediatrician, which I like to visit, when I am not getting a shot.

We also had a very nice visit from our family friends, Mr. and Mrs. Bieschke from Michigan. They were here the week Cara came! It was fun to hang out with them. I played baseball in the backyard with Mr. “B”; and Mrs. “B” and I would play whatever I wanted. We all celebrated Halloween at my big cousin Abbie’s house! It was a lot of fun and I loved trick or treating. Since my parents would not name my sister Gil Hodges, which I requested numerous times, I  decided to be Gil Hodges for Halloween, basically I dressed in a NY Mets baseball costume. Here’s the funny part – I went to a house where we found another Mets fan!! He was so excited when he opened the door to find me that he wanted to give me his whole bowl of candy! (Note: Mommy is thankful we did not receive a whole bowl of candy!) My Grandma and Aunt Beth dressed up too! As Curious George and the Man with the Yellow Hat! Grandma even made sure Cara had a costume. She was a little bee. And even I had to admit, she was pretty cute.

I think I mentioned last month that I was getting new big boy furniture – well, it is here! I attached a picture for you. I do like sleeping in my new bed.

Well, it has been a very exciting month here at the Kless household. I also want to mention that my Great Uncle Jimmy passed away on Oct. 21. He was a brave Marine who served in Vietnam and earned a Purple Heart as well as a firefighter in the NYC fire department, may he rest in peace.

Thank you all for the well wishes and support to my family! We are very excited that Cara is part of our family. I will be sure to keep you posted on what she is up to.

My Mommy and Daddy have been working on a video for you of Cara – here is a link to it à http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU44qVGZj1k

Love, Sean

PS – can you believe in one month I will be three?!
