I am 29-months old today

Hello everyone and welcome to my 29-month birthday!

As I mentioned last month, Mommy signed me up for tee ball! I am participating in a weekly class called “Lil Sluggers” on Friday mornings. I would like to say that in the five lessons I have had, I have had made big improvements! Plus, we play in the backyard as often as I can get one of my parents outside with me. Sometimes though I end up combining both soccer and tee ball – either kicking a baseball around the yard or by putting the soccer ball on the tee and hitting it off the tee. I have learned where the bases are and am starting to throw more precisely. I really like going to tee ball and look forward to it every week.

I still like pre-school, especially my teacher Miss Lisa. I can’t believe that school will be over in just a few weeks! I am already signed up for next year where I will go two days a week. Usually after school, Mommy takes me swimming. I can tell you that I swim at the “natatorium” – this is one of my new favorite words! Speaking of words – I am quite vocal and enjoy singing (I get this from my Daddy). I can sing most of the words to “Take me out to the ballgame,” “Wheels on the Bus,” and “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”

We (Mommy, Daddy and Grandma and me) just returned from an absolutely memorable trip to New York City. My favorite part was riding the subway (and of course the plane ride!); however, my parents promise me that one day I will appreciate the real reason I was there. I think I have written you about our friend Philip who founded the Sports Museum of America. We went to participate in the opening of the museum. We went to the press conference, then for a tour of the museum. To say it was an unbelievable day is an understatement. We sat in the second row of the press conference and saw amazing athletes in person (Eli Manning, Billie Jean King, Dick Button, Bonnie Blair, Bruce Jenner) along with Mayor Bloomberg. Once we returned to the museum we were able to talk to the athletes, ask for autographs and pictures. I had my picture taken with several athletes – Martina Navratilova, Mario Andretti, Jim Craig, Tony Dorsett, Carl Lewis, Bob Cousy and Pat LaFontaine and the Heisman Trophy! I think my favorite was Mario – he was in the movie “Cars”! They were all very nice. Mommy and Daddy went to a fancy opening Gala. Me and Grandma had a nice evening. Her friends Julie and Carol came down from Saugerties for a visit and dinner. We were so happy for Philip that his dream and vision became a reality. As you can imagine, there were a lot of pictures taken! Daddy posted them up on a Web site for you along with captions. Also, if you ever get to NYC, be sure to visit the museum – it is really incredible.

Well, that is all for this month. I am leaving for Washington DC next week for a trip. I am excited to go to my cousin Emily’s first birthday party tomorrow! (And my two friends – Sammy and Charlie – also turning one this week!).This time Grandma and Grandpap will be with me! Mommy and Daddy have to work. I am sure we will have a lot of fun! Other than that, I look forward to summer and swimming outside! Oh, my Daddy is going to go to Melbourne in a few weeks, I will definitely miss him a lot.

Love, Sean
