Seven-months old

Hi everyone!
Well, I can hardly believe it, another month has come and gone in my young life. This month marks the first of many firsts. Although most of my life has been firsts thus far, there are some things that I think are pretty significant.
First, I attended my very first birthday party! Cousin Abbie turned 4 on June 17. We went to a pizza party and rode rides (I was too little) at Planet Pizza. It was lots of fun. There were lots of kids there for me to watch. They move around really well … I can’t wait until I am mobile. The next first, was my first trip to the west (left) coast. Mommy, Daddy and me went off to Seattle for a few days. Daddy had to work, so me and mommy saw the town! We went on a “duck tour” where it was the first time I went on water in a boat, we went to the Seattle Aquarium (I learned that jelly fish and starfish are no longer called those, but jellies and sea stars are the correct terms, neither are fish, which prompted the change), we also visited the Seattle Library (designed by famous architect Rem Koolhaas), the very first Starbucks, Pike Place Market, the top of the Space Needle and several yummy restaurants. We also had dinner with some of Mommy and Daddy’s friends. I think they liked me! Our hotel was very cool. It was pet friendly. Since we did not have a pet with us, they let us borrow one. We had a fish named “Nemo” who shared our room with us. My trip out west was so fun, that we are headed west again in August to Sacramento. We are going to visit one of Mommy’s closest friends, Karen, and her boyfriend David, who is a Marine and served two tours in Iraq. They also have a new puppy named Gunner, who I am very excited to meet! Another fun first was my first Father’s Day with my Daddy. Me and Mommy took him to breakfast and gave him presents. We also watched a baseball game together, I think he had a very nice day. My last first is my first political function. Not only did Mommy and Daddy go, but so did Aunt Beth, Grandma and Grandpap. We went out to a ranch where an independent (sorry Debbie and Johnny) candidate spoke, Kinky Friedman. My Uncle Mike likes him real well too. Well, I got my picture taken with him, he had some cool fringes on his jacket, I think I like fringes! Visit http://www.kinkyfriedman.com/ for more info.
I spent time watching the World Cup since my Uncle Mike and Aunt Melinda were in Germany for it. I liked watching the games even though the US lost early. Another fun sporting event happened when Mommy left me for an evening and took Grandpap to Game 6 of the NBA finals. Our Mavericks lost, but they had a great time together.
We had a great 4th of July weekend. I went to a concert in the park and a parade! The parade was fun, I liked all the colors and people throwing candy. Mommy wouldn’t let me have any candy though! Also over the long weekend, my cousin Abbie, Uncle Rich and Auntie Rachel moved into their new house. Abbie can see our house from her bedroom window. I am so happy to have them very close by.
As for me, I am sitting up pretty well, but I still topple over from time to time. Mommy takes me to Gymboree play class. We have what she calls the “all you can eat” plan for the summer. That means we can go to class whenever there is a class. The last couple Saturdays, Daddy has come with us. That has really been fun. I have also been to a music class. You would think my mom had nothing else to do then to drag me to all Gymboree, all the time. I start swimming lessons this week at the big indoor pool pretty close to my house. Click here if you want to see it. My Mommy and Daddy have gym memberships there too, although I have no idea the last time they went to use it! I am eating rice cereal and oatmeal as well as fruits and vegetables. I still only have two teeth on the bottom. I spend Mondays and Fridays with Grandma, so Mommy can work. I don’t know what she does all day, but I bet she misses me. Grandma takes me to the library on Fridays for story time, I don’t so much like the stories, but I love watching the other kids
We have very special relatives visiting this week from Pittsburgh. My Great Uncle Chaz, Great Aunt Doll and Great Aunt Gail are here to visit. I am going to hang out with them quite a bit while they are here. I know it will be a great time. Then later this week, my Uncle Mike is coming to visit too. I think he is going to spend the night at our house. Won’t that be fun! His room is the closest to mine, so you know what that means?!
My mom is working on another special first for me. My first birthday party! Yes, please mark your calendars for Saturday, December 9. We are planning to have the party at my house. More details to follow. We hope you can all make it.
You may remember that last month I started entering my updates in a BLOG. You should have received an invitation to join. If you did not, or it got lost in the shuffle, let me know and I will have Mommy get right on it.
Much love from the dustplains of Allen, Texas!
xoxo, Sean Michael
